Prof. Dr. Atif Yaqub is a distinguished academician, seasoned researcher, and former Chairperson of the Department of Zoology at Government College University, Lahore. Holding a Ph.D. in Zoology (Split-site: University of Florida, USA), Dr. Yaqub commands extensive expertise in aquatic pollution, nanobiotechnology, ecotoxicology, fish health, and conservation biology.

Over the course of an illustrious academic career spanning nearly two decades, he has held progressive faculty appointments and mentored over 130 undergraduate, M.Phil., and Ph.D. theses as an HEC-approved supervisor. He has successfully led numerous interdisciplinary research projects funded by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), and WWF-Pakistan.
